Why don't we sit back a moment and look at what is happening and remember the last mid-term elections.
Remember the different special interest groups who didn't feel President Obama had addressed their issues, the blowback from passing the ACA,(Obamacare) and the general apathy of the voters?
This gave the House back to the Republicans by losing over 60 seats and completely eviscerated the Senate by losing 6 seats.
Now for some strange reason, we are running around and acting like we have neutered the House because they passed a clean Debt Limit Bill and it's time for Immigration Reform.
Why?
Do we like throwing elections?
When Nancy Pelosi was speaker of the House and we had a majority in the Senate, however hamstrung by that turncoat Liebermann, passing the Affordable Care Act was a real challenge and many were unhappy with the end result due to the necessary compromises.
This was when we had majorities in both the Senate and the House.
We look back now and it's hard to remember how much courage it took for some members of the House to vote yes, knowing it almost guaranteed they would lose their seat.
Right now we don't have a filibuster proof Senate majority and we have a House that as disarrayed as they look today, would circle the wagons around a reform bill and use it to meld back together and make the Democrats look foolish. It could only help them this election.
